Thank You to the Canadian Mental Health Association for having us out to their annual golf tournament.

We are proud to stand behind CMHA and all they do for Mental Health. Here we’re sharing a letter we received.

Dear Hendriks Construction,

The 2016 Mental Health Classic presented by Volvo of Edmonton raised funds to help people living with a mental illness overcome the many barriers they face in their recovery journey. You helped us achieve this, Eileen. Now, we want to share a story with you about how much your support means. Cody* shared his story of hope with us and now we’d like to share it with you.

“I remember wondering, what was I going to do? I no longer had a place to live and it was starting to get cold. At night I would imagine having a roof over my head, but when the morning came so did the challenges. Luckily, things turned around when I learned I was chosen from CMHA-Edmonton’s Housing Program waitlist. I received a call and soon after, I was looking at an apartment. There was hope! Their staff joined me on my journey and now I have a place to call home. Today, what used to be a dream has become a reality, thanks to you.” – Cody, CMHA Tenant

With CM HA-Edmonton Region, you have the chance to change your community and to change the lives of people like Cody. Cody struggles each day with the stigma surrounding mental illness. At times, this makes it challenging to find a place to live. Without you, Eileen, we could not have achieved so much. Reducing the stigma and giving hope to people like Cody means a lot to us. Thank you so much for joining us and we hope to see you again next year to help us keep our vision of mentally healthy people in caring communities alive.

Thank you;

Ione Challborn
